Massive Fire in Karbigahiya, Patna: Elderly Woman Burnt Alive, Husband Critically Injured

A tragic fire incident in the Karbigahiya locality of Patna has left the area in shock. A 65-year-old woman, Malti Devi, was burnt alive after a massive fire broke out in her house on Friday evening. Her 75-year-old husband, Baliram Chaudhary, sustained serious burn injuries in the incident.
🧓 Paralysed Couple Left Helpless
According to information, only the elderly couple was present in the house at the time of the incident. Both were reportedly suffering from paralysis. Malti Devi was in a more critical condition and was completely unable to move on her own.
In the evening, thick smoke and flames suddenly began rising from the house. As the fire spread rapidly, Malti Devi could not shift herself to safety. Her husband raised an alarm, calling for help, but due to his physical limitations, he was unable to rescue his wife.
🚪 Neighbours Broke Door, Rescued Husband
Hearing the cries for help, local residents rushed to the spot and broke open the door to enter the house. After great effort, they managed to rescue Baliram Chaudhary. However, by then, the fire had completely engulfed Malti Devi. She died before the flames could be brought under control.
Reports indicate that at the time of the incident, their younger son Ravi Shankar Chaudhary had gone to the market with his wife and children.
🔌 Short Circuit Suspected, Investigation Underway
Police and fire brigade teams reached the spot shortly after receiving information. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured Baliram Chaudhary has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, but a short circuit is suspected in the preliminary investigation.

The heartbreaking incident has created an atmosphere of mourning in Karbigahiya. Local residents expressed concern, stating that leaving elderly and critically ill family members alone at home can pose serious risks.
