UP STF Action: ₹50,000 Rewarded Criminal Pawan Alias Lallu Dies After Encounter

In a major crackdown on organized crime, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force has neutralized a wanted criminal carrying a reward of ₹50,000. Pawan alias Lallu was injured during an encounter in Agra and later died during treatment at a hospital.
Encounter in Agra, Died During Treatment
According to officials, the encounter took place in the Ekta police station area of Agra during a joint operation by the Noida unit of STF and local police. Pawan alias Lallu sustained serious injuries in the exchange of fire. He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Wanted in 18 Criminal Cases
Pawan alias Lallu was a resident of Ghaziabad and had reportedly worked as a shooter for the notorious Randeep Bhati–Amit Kasana gang. He was facing a total of 18 criminal cases, including:
4 cases of murder
2 cases of extortion
Several other serious offenses
He was wanted in an extortion case registered at Tajganj police station under Agra Commissionerate, where a reward of ₹50,000 had been declared on him. Earlier, in 2021, a reward of ₹1 lakh had also been announced against him in a murder case.
Looted 9mm Pistol Recovered
During the encounter, STF recovered a significant quantity of ammunition and illegal firearms from his possession. The recovered 9mm pistol had allegedly been looted from a constable in 2016 in the Bisrakh police station area of Gautam Buddh Nagar. A case related to that incident was already registered.
Re-Activated After Jail Release
Sources revealed that during his time in jail, he allegedly came into contact with the gang of notorious Haryana-based criminal Himanshu Bhau. After being released from prison in 2025, he reportedly resumed large-scale extortion activities across Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh.
Police officials stated that he was planning to execute a major criminal act along with his associates before being intercepted.
