The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass for the upcoming financial year 2026–27. The annual pass will now cost Rs 3,075, an increase of Rs 75 from the existing price of Rs 3,000. The revised rate will come into effect from April 1.According to the authority, the fee update has been implemented in line with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which govern toll charges on national highways and expressways. The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced on August 15, 2025, with the aim of offering financial relief to frequent highway users. Since its launch, the facility has seen steady adoption among private vehicle owners across the country. NHAI said that more than 56 lakh users have already opted for the annual pass. The pass is designed for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag and can be used at around 1,150 fee plazas across National Highways and National Expressways. It allows users to make a one-time payment instead of recharging their FASTag frequently. The pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first.

Motorists can purchase the FASTag Annual Pass online through the Rajmarg Yatra App or via the official NHAI website. Once the payment is completed, the pass is activated on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle, typically within two hours.FASTag itself is an RFID-based tag that enables automatic toll payments by deducting the fee directly from the user’s linked prepaid wallet or bank account. The system has been widely adopted across India’s highway network to reduce congestion at toll plazas and enable faster, contactless toll collection.
