KVN Productions, the banner behind Vijay’s Jana Nayaganand Toxic, starring Yash, is in fresh trouble. The production house’s Kannada movie, KD: The Devil, starring Dhruva Sarja and directed by Prem, is facing the ire of music fans on social media.

The song ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’, has run into a controversy for its lyrics. The special number, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, has been slammed by fans on social media for its “vulgar” and “suggestive” wordings. The song is written by Prem. The production has made the song private on YouTube.
Protesting against the song, ardent Kannada fans remembered the glory days of songs from legendary lyricists such as Ch.i Uday Shankar and RN Jayagopal and expressed their disappointment over the fall in standards. Currently, only the promotional videos of the song is available on Anand Audio YouTube Channel. The full version of the song, in all languages, has been taken down by the makers.
Incidentally, the Hindi version of the song, titled ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’, is facing a bigger backlash when compared to the Kannada original. KD: The Devil will be dubbed in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. The pan-India period gangster drama will hit the screens on April 30.
People on social media came down hard against the Hindi lyrics, saying the words demean women. Many expressed their surprise over the Censor Board passing the song without objections. Netizens wanted the song to be taken down for the extreme sexual innuendo in the lyrics.
“Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low,” wrote playback singer Armaan Malik. “I am genuinely at a loss of words,” he wrote on X.
This showed up on my timeline and I had to replay it just to make sure I heard it right. Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low.. https://t.co/BMMABqblnW

The row puts KVN Productions in the news for wrong reasons again. The production house is yet to release their highly-anticipated Jana Nayagan, billed as Tamil superstar’s Vijay’s final film. The movie, which waged a battle in court, is delayed indefinitely due to pending CBFC certification.
Toxic, co-produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations helmed by Yash, has been postponed to June 04, 2025. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the period gangster drama was supposed to hit the screens on March 19. The makers said the film had to be pushed to a new date due to the “ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East”.
Earlier this year, the AAP Women’s Wing lodged a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Women, calling the teaser of Toxic “harmful” and “inappropriate”. Toxic also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Kiara Advani.
