Streaming platform Netflix announced a three-part docu-series, Michael Jackson: The Verdict on Wednesday (May 20, 2026), which will dissect the controversial child molestation charges pitted against the king of pop.
As per a press release, the three-part docuseres will feature individuals who were inside the courtroom, including jurors, eyewitnesses, and accusers and defenders and present the perspectives of both the prosecution and the defense.

The series is directed by Nick Green and executive produced by Fiona Stourton. Its trailer was unveiled by the makers which begins with stock footage visuals of police cars rounding up outside Jackson’s property as an interviewee says, “He is the most famous man in the world accused of the most heinous crime in the world.” The series promises to look at all the facets of the case, featuring old videos and visuals of Jackson as he took part in the trial. The trailer ends with Jackson saying, “Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court.”
In 2003, Jackson was charged with multiple counts of child molestation and the allegations triggered an intense media scrutiny and a subsequent trial that drew worldwide public attention. However, he was acquitted of all charges in 2005. The pop icon died in 2009.
Recently, a biopic titled Michael, was released in theatres, starring Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson in the lead. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film only recounted his life from the 1960s to 1980s.
