‘Maa Ka Sum’ trailer: Mona Singh and Mihir Ahuja promise a feel-good mother-son story

The trailer of Mona Singh and Mihir Ahuja’s upcoming series, Maa Ka Sum was unveiled by the makers on Friday, March 27, 2026. Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and written by Ravinder Randhawa and Sumrit Shahi, the show also stars Angira Dhar and Ranveer Brar in pivotal roles.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the refreshing world of the show where Agastya (Mihir), a 19-year-old math prodigy is on a mission to find the perfect partner for his single mother, Vinita (Mona). What follows is a quirky ride where logic meets emotion. Agatsya (Angira) is joined by Ira, his enigmatic new math professor as the two join forces to build an algorithm for the perfect match. Vinita, however, finds companionship in Abhimanyu (Ranveer), which irks Agastya leading to some conflicts between the two.

Speaking about the show, Mona said in a statement, “Vinita is unlike anyone I have played before, and that is largely because of how refreshingly different this story is. At its heart is a single mother-son relationship that is built on an easy friendship, deep trust, and a rather unusual lens on love, which is what drew me in instantly. The series strikes a beautiful balance between humour and emotion, while telling a story that feels warm, honest, and deeply relatable in its own distinct way.”

Mihir added, “What I found most endearing about Agastya is that beneath all his confidence and brilliance, he is simply a son who deeply loves his mother and wants to see her happy. He shares a rare friendship with her — there is honesty, comfort, and a warmth in their bond that feels very special.”

The 8-episode series is produced by Babita Ashiwal under the banner of Eunoia Films and will be released on Prime Video on April 3.
