‘Gullak’ season 5: Anant Joshi joins the cast of Sony LIV’s comedy series

Actor Anant Joshi has joined the cast of Sony LIV’s Gullak season 5, the streamer announced on Friday (May 8, 2026). Anant, known for 12^th Fail, Maamla Legal Hai and Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein, will be replacing actor Vaibhav Raj Gupta to play the character of Annu Bhaiya in the new season of the comedy series.

Speaking about being part of the show, Anant said in a statement, “I’ve been a fan of this world for a long time, so becoming a part of it now feels truly special. Stepping into Annu Bhaiya’s journey has been an exciting experience for me, especially because this season explores a more mature and evolving side of his life. What made it even more memorable was the love and warmth I received from the entire cast and team from day one. I’m genuinely grateful to be a part of the Gullak family and very excited for audiences to experience this new season with us.”

The series, which first aired on Sony LIV in 2019, has been produced by The Viral Fever and also stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Harsh Mayar and Sunita Rajwar in pivotal roles. The fourth season of the show came out in June 2024.

More details about the upcoming fifth season are yet to be disclosed.
