Vir Das to helm and star in found-footage horror movie, ‘Baara Number’

Following his maiden directorial debut Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, actor-comedian-filmmaker Vir Das is set to explore a new creative space with his next project. Vir announced that his next is a found footage horror film, titled Baara Number, which he will co-direct with Kavi Shastri.

The film is set to go on floors in June with its initial shooting schedule planned in Mumbai. Vir will also feature as part of a multi-character cast in the film.

As per a press release, the film is aimed to move beyond conventional tropes, “blending psychological depth with atmospheric storytelling”. It has been in development for a long time.

Happy Patel was released in theatres on January 16 and also starred Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles with Aamir Khan and Imran Khan making guest appearances. The dark comedy was backed by Aamir Khan Productions.
