Jai plays a Vijay fan in his upcoming film, ‘Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai’

Tamil actor Jai is all set to play a fan of actor-turned-politician and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay, in his upcoming film, Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai, set to release in theatres this week. Directed by Babu Vijay, the film stars Meenakshi Govindarajan as the female lead.

The movie’s trailer, released recently by the makers, begins like a typical rom-com, following Jai’s (Chandru) attempts to win over Meenakshi’s (Charu), eventually leading to marriage. Jai is seen portraying an ardent fan of Vijay, imitating his mannerisms and dialogues. The plot takes a turn when a villain driven by power and money enters the story, tarnishing Chandru’s image.

Apart from Jai and Meenakshi, the film also stars Yogi Babu, Garuda Ram, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir and Sriman. With music scored by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, the film has cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Darling Richardson.
